SIDE PROJECTS
This section of the website is devoted to projects of Rancik's that don't necessarily involve his classical career.

PROTEST OF REALITY

The entity known as Protest of Reality was started by composer and pianist Kevin Rancik in the year 2000. A few basic tracks were recorded, but only one was ever released. It was not long before it went off-line and pretty much disappeared off the face of the planet. However, a few years later Rancik brought the tracks back to life and rewrote them. He also came out with a number of new tracks, and in July of 2003 released the album Beauty in Apathy. The dark atmosphere, sound distortion, and the sheer amount of noise present in the music marked a huge contrast with Rancik's piano works. A month later, he released Trash Truck, which featured additional tracks - including the first finished Protest of Reality track released back in 2000, Beating the Burning Flame of Blue Fire. Protest of Reality was started as a side project of Rancik's but is quickly garnering interest and has a small but growing number of devoted fans. A small website was put on-line that may be relaunched within the next few weeks.
